Bolder Boulder runs for the money

BOULDER, Colo. — These are still the best of times for the Bolder Boulder.

Race director Cliff Bosley is sensitive when it comes to the subject of the economy. He understands that a lot of people are having a rough go of it right now and he doesn't believe the annual Memorial Day 10K is immune from the financial woes that are crippling other businesses and sporting events during this recession.

But it says a lot about the popularity and overall health of the Bolder Boulder that the race's major sponsors include a bank, a car company and a newspaper.

Bosley even tried to land an airline in 2009. Maybe next year.
